Having a brand new office might be a pretty novel thing for most of us, and for our regular visitors at “Africastro.com”, this is probably the reason why you probably keep coming back to visit our website for the latest news and information about Africa.
First things first, those of you who are regular readers are probably aware of the fact that for as long as I have started writing articles here, I have always made a difference between Africa and the countries of Africa. This might seem odd to a few of you. As this is one of the major and most distinct differences between your website and mine, I would like to take the time to explain it to you:
“Africa” in itself is a continent, not a country. This is actually reflected in the name of the continent: African Continent. Only countries are referred to as “Africa”. You should avoid referring to countries by the name of the continent. This is probably why we constantly come across useless information, or an article about “Africa” in the world, which is not connected to the real continent, but rather refers to those countries that are located in the African Continent.
The independent state of Eritrea is situated in the Horn of Africa. Its capital is Asmara and it is the second largest country in Africa. It is bordered to the north by Sudan, to the east by Ethiopia, to the south by the Red Sea and to the west by Djibouti.
You should have taken a look at the news from some weeks ago about the decision of the US government to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights region, a territory that was captured in the 1967 War from Syria. You may have seen the political reaction from the Arab nations, who may have even initiated a series of military measures to prepare for any possible invasions of the region. This is an important topic that is being discussed these days, but that is not our point here.
I was watching one of the Eurovision Song Contests in the past, and I watched the voting results with much interest. At that point, I noticed something, that I would like to ask you to take into
What’s New in the AAC ACM Codec?
AAC ACM Codec
Well, finally I’ve got it working. The reason why I’ve asked this question is because the codec was working 100% before installing a plugin I had to run in order to play songs from my Android device, but since that was over a year ago I had forgotten the procedure.
I had installed the AAC ACM Codec mentioned in this topic a few months ago. But ever since that time, I have been having the problem with playback.
Today, I uninstalled the ACM codec and the problem appeared again. I ran the installer again and it told me that the codec was already installed on the system, so I thought everything was working.
Long story short, I uninstalled the codec once again and then when I ran the installer for the first time I did not even look at what it was asking for, I simply pressed the “Next > >” button and clicked “Yes” every time.
Since I didn’t read anything, the codec was installed on my PC as if I had never asked for it to be installed in the first place.
So I rebooted the computer and it was working 100% fine.
I just double checked this method and it will work every time.
In case you’re wondering why in the world is the installer telling you that the codec is already installed on your PC when it is clearly not, it is because the ACM codec installer uses the name of the program that installed the codec as its message.
So for example, if I had installed the ACM Codec before installing or uninstalling a certain program, it would say:
You have the following program installed:
Version: 126.96.36.199 (unicode)
Size: 1.4 Mb (uncompressed)
Arch: win32 (x86), win64 (x64)
Description: Codec for Windows Media Player
So now, when the installer runs, it will see that I have a codec installed named “codec.exe” and will automatically assume that the codec is installed, which is wrong.
The bottom line is that if you want to be safe, you have to look at what the installer is asking for and, if possible, read the description of the package you are unzipping.
I’ve been searching for a solution and I’ve found it.
So far, the only tool that works is the standalone program that comes with the AAC ACM Codec. This
