Following the introduction of AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT (formerly known as AutoCAD Architecture) was introduced in 1993 to compete with the other common commercial CAD software on the market (AtlasCAD and MicroStation). Subsequently, in 2002, the AutoCAD application was split into AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT. These are separate commercial CAD programs, and both share the same physical application file.
AutoCAD is used for the creation of technical drawings, which are widely used for product design and fabrication of engineering projects, home-improvement projects, and all sorts of other projects.
AutoCAD was originally developed for the drafting of architectural plans by the architectural firm Bentley, LeBrun and Ross. Designed by Bentley LeBrun, this CAD program was first named Bentley-LeBrun-Ross-CAD (BLR-CAD) and was marketed from 1978 to 1982.
In 1978, S R L Muroff, Senior Technical Director of Bentley LeBrun, outlined the background and requirements for a new CAD program, and a team was put together by the architects to create a new CAD program. Two products were produced: Bentley-LeBrun-Ross-CAD (BLR-CAD) and Bentley-LeBrun-Ross-CAD 2D (BLR-CAD 2D). The architects were chosen by Bentley as one of the companies who would use this new CAD program. BLR-CAD was programmed by Bentley and distributed for free.
Bentley LeBrun was a leading architectural practice in the 1970s. Muroff had been working at Bentley for about 13 years at that time. He was one of the architects on the team that created the computer drafting program.
In 1978, Bentley LeBrun hired Bentley Systems (now Bentley Systems Inc.) as the exclusive distributor of BLR-CAD. The engineers at Bentley LeBrun wanted a drafting program that would run on a desktop microcomputer. This decision led to the development of AutoCAD in 1982.
In 1982, AutoCAD 1.0 was released for desktop computers.
During this time, Bentley LeBrun (BLR-CAD) was renamed AutoCAD and was sold to Autodesk.
Later, in the mid-1980s, AutoCAD LT (formerly known as AutoCAD Architecture) was developed

Installable web applications
AutoCAD (Windows and Mac) allows embedding web applications, also known as web viewers, inside AutoCAD drawings. These allow users to have access to the drawings and/or data stored in a drawing while using a web browser on any computer or mobile device.

Recovering a physical drive in Time Machine on Mac OS X Lion
I just bought a new MacBook Pro with Lion installed, and I had a physical external drive that I was using as a Time Machine backup.
When I plugged in the external drive, it asked me to connect it using either SCSI or USB. When I connected it using USB, it just found it and mounted it automatically.
It then mounted the drive as part of the Time Machine backup system, so I didn’t really pay attention to it.
I noticed that the drive was not being backed up when I checked the Time Machine backups, and decided to look at it. I found out that it was some kind of hardware failure, and that all the data had been lost.
After that, I unplugged it.
I tried to plug it back in and Time Machine has some issues when it tries to restore the drive. After a lot of rebooting and trying to recover, I finally succeeded and Time Machine restored the backup.
The issue now is that I don’t have any backup from the previous OS on the external drive. It’s all completely empty.
Does anyone know how to recover the data on the physical drive?
This is one of the cases that have been addressed by Apple in the new Developer Beta 1 of Lion, released today.
Basically, what you have to do is:
Restore from Time Machine.
Open Disk Utility and “Restore From Backup”
Select the appropriate disk image.
Select the “Repair Permissions” checkbox.
The drive should then be fully recovered.

Mysql query to combine 2 tables, and then to separate them based on the grouping
I have 2 mysql tables with the following columns
id userid e1 e2 e3 e4
1 a 1 0 0 0
2 b 0 1 0 0
3 c 0 0 1 0
4 d 0 0 0 1
id eid e1 e2 e3 e4
1 1 0 0 0 0
2 2 1 1 0 1
3 3 0 0 0 0
How do i combine the 2 tables into 1 where I get a record per user with the e1 and e2 in the table1 then the e3 and e4 in the table 2. the resulting table should look like this:
eid e1 e2 e3 e4
1 1 0 0 0
2 0 1 1 1
3 0 0 0 0
The SQL should be something like this:
What’s New in the AutoCAD?
The Automation Bridge now enables you to run AutoCAD model-to-model in a Windows application while the AutoCAD engine works on the same drawing. When you use the same drawing model with a Windows application, AutoCAD maintains model-to-model synchronization.
Initiate table-related dialogs from the drawing environment or from AutoCAD’s ribbon menu. (video: 0:35 min.)
Ribbon Panel and 3D Bar:
Easily control your 3D shapes with the ribbon panel and 3D bar. The ribbon panel provides a simple access to your common tasks and functions and you can make them as accessible as possible by highlighting them.
More options are available in the ribbon panel for editing the edge and face modes of faces, vertices, and edges. Select different AutoCAD commands to automate model-to-model updates. Use the ribbon’s panel-based toolbars to access features such as object creation and editing, drawing views, and tabular views.
The 3D bar is an excellent tool for any type of 3D application, such as drafting, home-design, or engineering. It provides access to common 3D commands, like snap and hide options, and the ribbon toolbar.
The ribbon panel and 3D bar are available in both the ribbon layout view and the drawing view.
3D ribbon and toolbar:
The new 3D ribbon and toolbar provide a quicker access to common 3D tasks.
You can easily customize key commands on your drawing for your specific business needs. (video: 0:48 min.)
You can access the command settings from the ribbon or the ribbon panel. Use your own custom commands and easily create your own custom command set to suit your design needs. You can also reuse your custom commands in future drawings.
Customize the ribbon layout in AutoCAD to your unique workflow. The ribbon display can be customized to meet your needs by either removing or adding toolbars and panels.
The viewing options include the ribbon layout view and the drawing view. You can create your own custom view, or use the one that’s already included.
The ribbon panel displays the same viewing options as the ribbon layout view.
You can easily share a drawing with others, and control how it is updated through the Collabor
