converting bytes to string and then string to bytes?

I’m currently storing images in the database, and some of them are images stored as binary, which are then loaded from the database into an Image object. Some of those images are too large for the memory size of the computer the image is being loaded into.
I am then passing that image into a BLOB and storing it in another table as a binary.
So my question is, is there a way I can load a BLOB as a image, then convert it back to a binary?
So for example if I had a BLOB of size 73640 bytes, I’d like to convert it back into a string, then convert that string back into a binary, so that I can read it back into memory.
Is there a way to do this?

You can store the binary in the database as usual, and in the code retrieve it in binary.
You can then call from there to convert binary into a string, or pass a string to convert to binary.
$binary = fread($resource, filesize($resource)); // Source is the BLOB you want to convert back into binary
$string = pack(‘H*’, $binary); // Source is the string, converted to binary
$byte = unpack(‘C*’, $string); // Source is the binary, converted to string
$string = unpack(‘C*’, $byte); // Source is the string, converted to binary

As for converting the image back into the BLOB, I presume you can achieve that by using file_get_contents()

The influence of the degree of hemolysis on the whole blood viscoelastic properties was investigated by the controlled decrease of the plasma citrate concentration to 0.2% (similar to 0.6% in whole blood) followed by the addition of a monoheme free hemoglobin solution to the blood-phosphate-buffered solution (PBS) mixture.
